Help Madison Galloway bring her sophomore album to life! Album to be released Winter 2022.

ABOUT MY PROJECT

Hi there, welcome to my campaign! My name’s Madison Galloway, I’m a young Canadian roots-rock musician, singer-songwriter from Fergus, Ontario.

I grew up surrounded by collections of records, CD’s, and cassettes, which is where my love of music was born. At 6 years old, I began piano lessons, but it was when I started playing guitar at age 12 that I discovered my true passion! From there, I taught myself to play harmonica, ukulele, banjo and more. I then launched into writing my own songs and in 2015, I released my first EP entitled Who Knows Where. Since, I’ve played hundreds of shows from local concert halls to prominent festivals, including the iconic Mariposa Folk Festival and Riverfest Elora, while opening for renowned artists such as 54-40, Ron Hawkins (Lowest of the Low), Colter Wall, and Lindi Ortega. Now, with much anticipation, I am about to record my debut full-length album, produced by Canadian songwriter legend, Ron Hawkins!  - condense

Right now, I am at a huge turning point in my career and this album is key in propelling me to the next level. Since releasing my debut EP in 2015, I have sold over 1,300 copies and my audience has grown substantially! This new LP will fuel my upcoming tour schedule, play an essential part in my efforts to gain interest from large festivals, and be a huge catalyst in growing my fan base.

In the past 3 years of travelling Ontario, dedicating myself to performing and writing, I have put together a collection of my songs that I cannot wait to share with you! This new album will be produced by acclaimed singer-songwriter, Ron Hawkins and recorded at Escarpment Sound Studio in Belwood, ON, with Brian Hewson, engineer extraordinaire.

This 13-song album will feature 12 of my original songs backed by a full band and special guest musicians playing sitar, tabla, and even a hurdy gurdy… yes, I have a hurdy gurdy player!! The songs will range from foot-stomping highs to ambient lows, while blending elements of folk, rock, and blues with flavours of the world, to create an eclectic journey of sound.

Since I was little, I’ve always wanted to create change and my hope for this album isn’t short of that. Whether it be making a positive influence to your outlook through the reflections told in some of my songs and influencing environmental and political activism in others, or maybe you just totally dig listening to it, either way, I hope to make an impact with this album. Through your support we can achieve this together!

WHY I NEED YOUR HELP

As an independent artist, I have the benefit of full creative freedom, but it also means paying for this project myself. There are huge costs involved in producing and marketing a record as it requires many skilled people to ensure its success. I’m certain that my team has what it takes to create an album that will launch my career to the next level and make you proud to say that you were a part of bringing it to life.

This project has a total budget of _____, which covers:

  • Producer

  • Engineer

  • Studio Rental

  • Musicians

  • Mixing

  • Mastering

  • Album Artwork

  • CD & Vinyl Manufacturing

  • Publicity & Marketing

  • Music Videos

I have applied for funding through the Ontario Arts Council to cover 1/3 of the costs of this project. I will receive a response from them in April 2019 and am confident in the application I’ve submitted. I will be covering 1/3 of the expenses myself using my entire personal life savings, but I need your help for the final third! My campaign goal is $13,000 which will cover a portion of the recording, mixing, mastering, manufacturing, and marketing expenses.

RISKS & CHALLENGES

With any project, there are risks and challenges that may arise, however, I have given this much thought and feel I am prepared to handle these circumstances. If I do not reach my campaign goal or my project is not selected for funding through OAC, I will have to limit my marketing budget, reduce the number of albums manufactured, and/or invest the money from my education fund. On the other hand, if I exceed my goal, I will add to my marketing & video budget, use towards touring costs, and keep back some of my personal savings for living expenses and future projects.
